The delinquent youth Qin Ming and the frail scholar Bai Qi—one is the one who sets the trap, the other the one who unravels it; one acts by a twist of fate, the other by long-laid plans. Passing the selection together, they join the Jinwu Guard, and though repeatedly oppressed by the powerful and the noble, they carve out a bloody path with their courage and skill.
